Working to build a better understanding of grasslands and to provide methods and tools to better care for and conserve them, we pursue a vision of healthy and life-sustaining grasslands in BC for current and future generations.

The GRASSLAND MONITORING MANUAL FOR BRITISH COLUMBIA: A Tool For Ranchers is now available! This practical, easy-to-use manual will help ranchers maintain healthy, reliable grass from year to year while dealing with fluctuating climatic changes and shifting operational needs.
GRASSLAND PORTFOLIO: Thompson Basin Ecosystem The first of the grassland portfolios series is now available. Drawing on supporting data and maps, the portfolios identify priority grassland areas of provincial regions and offer strategic recommendations for use in land use planning.
The Grassland Portfolio: Thompson Basin Ecosection has already been recognized in the State of the Fraser Basin Report: Sustainability Snapshot 4: The Many Faces of Sustainability. Further, the GCC was excited to be short listed for the 2009 Sustainability Awards in the category of Caring for Ecosystems, presented by the Fraser Basin Council.
An Ecological Assessment for the Aberdeen Area of the City of Kamloops provides scientific rationale for ecologically sustainable development. A direct result of a Planning for Change workshop, it is an example of the benefits of the partnership building aspect of this initiative.
The Green Bylaws Toolkit is an important resource for understanding how local governments and developers can safeguard the environment. Developed in partnership, the Toolkit is an important component of Planning for Change workshops.
