The 2004 annual event consisted of a field tour of Douglas Lake Ranch, near Kamloops, BC. This learning experience was attended by nearly 40 participants and included:

• a special presentation from ranch manager Joe Gardner, who covered the management perspective of the ranch
• a presentation from grassland wildlife expert Doug Jury
• a presentation from grassland expert Brian Wikeen on range enclosures
• a social event and historical presentation at Douglas Lake Ranch's Stony Lake Lodge.
